Beaches

The Turkish Riveria
Side is established on a promontory. This means it is virtually surrounded by sea. It has three lovely beaches to suit all tastes offering many seaside activities like water-skiing, paragliding, Jet ski's, sailing and boat hire.
The Big (Buyuk) beach is closest to the Irem Apartments, approximately 800 metres away, separated by National trust protected sand dunes. Although there are many small bars and seasports sites, the Big Beach is free of major buildings and hotels for several kilometres. The Irem provides a free taxi for guests to and from the Beach bar/club. Ask at the bar or reception.

The Big Beach

Beaches for all the family
The West beach, sweeps for virtually 50Km round towards Antalya. It is the most 'developed' beach with many large modern hotels stretching away into the distance. The beach is gently sloping and is ideal for young childern to play safely in the gentle waves. The beach is ideal for watching the wonderful sunset. Find a nice bar and just relax.

 Town Beach
The Town Beach is on the Eastern aspect of Side old Town. This delightful little beach is approximately 300m long. It allows you to combine a visit to the town, do a little shopping, get a tan, maybe a beer and lunch at a local Bar/Restaurant overlooking the sea. Pure laid back sophistication. St Tropez? Who needs it?!!

Spectacular Sunsets
Side has wonderful sunsets every day and a romantic full moon hovers over the town once a month like a huge suspended balloon. The ancient civilisations who populated Side over the centuries, were attracted to the magical location by this extraordinary natural phenomenon; you too can observe the timeless simultaneous Moonrise and Sunset, viewed from the Temple of Apollo. The phenomenon is particulary stunning at the quarterly equinox. One of nature's mysteries revealed.
