Side, Antalya, Turkey. Side, pronounced See-Day, is located in Southern Turkey about 40miles east of Turkey's 2nd City, Antalya. The Irem Apartments are located 1km from Side Old and about 800m from the beach and 4km from Manavgat - the local market town.

GETTING SIDE BY AIR:

 UK Charter companies (Britannia and Monarch) flying to Antalya airport (40mls from Side). Scheduled flights to Istanbul with transfer to Antalya via British Airways & TTY Turkish Airlines. Some?direct flights are also available from Manchester and Stansted to Antalya. A Taxi from Antalya Airport to Side is about £40.00, for up to four people. The charter company may arrange transfer by bus to Side. Book?the transfer as part of your air?ticket before you go. It?costs about?£15 per person return. An airport taxi will take you directly to the Irem Apartments, the charter bus may make several stops en-route. Prices are all approximate depending on local exchange rate at the time.

Antalya airport is 10km east of the city centre, and has direct flights from many major European cities. It is well connected to other parts of Turkey, and in summer has daily connections from most big Turkish cities.

GETTING SIDE INDEPENDENTLY

By Road: Antalya is easily accessed from most parts of the country, and the main bus station in Manavgat, is 4km from Side. Major routes include Istanbul (12 hours), Fethiye (8 hours), Izmir (9 hours), Konya (6 hours) and Gorememe, Cappadocia (10 hours). The best route from Istanbul and Ankara is through Afyon and Burdur to Antalya. In addition to the air conditioned long-distance coaches ( which leave from the Sehirlerarasi Terminali (Antalya)), there are also dolmus (mini-bus) services to places like Kas, Alanya, Olympos and Side, although these may not be air-conditioned.

By Rail:The nearest station is at Burdur.

By Boat: The Antalya marina is one of the most important in Turkey, and the Kaleici harbour certainly one of the most photographed, lying at the foot of the old part of the city. Apart from private yachts sailing in from all over the world, there are passenger/car ferries from Girne (Northern Cyprus) Rhodes and Venice.
